On November 19, Mount St. Mary's University hosted their delightful annual Thanksgiving dinner in Patriot Hall.
The hall was lined with servers and meals ready to be enjoyed. Even our Dean of Students, Adrienne White joined as a server adding a special touch to the evening.
The feast featured a delicious array of dishes, including desserts, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, corn, ham and turkey. Patriot Hall was filled to the brim with students eagerly anticipating the meal.
The highlight of the evening was when our beloved President Joyce ceremoniously carved the turkey, marking the start of the celebration. It is wonderful seeing Joyce carrying out the universities tradition of cutting the turkey. Students had varying opinions about the event, but the overall sentiment was one of joy and gratitude.
Alysha John (C’28) shared her excitement by saying, "The food was amazing! I really loved the event. It felt like I was having Thanksgiving dinner early with my family."
Nyema Gillespie (C’28) added, "The atmosphere was so warm and inviting. It felt like a big family gathering."
Ryan Boykin (C’26) commented, "The food was fantastic, especially the turkey. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned."
Kaylah Scott (C’28) said, "The welcoming aspect of the event was incredible. Everyone was so friendly, and it really made me feel at home."
Nicholas Frey (C’26) mentioned, "Seeing the Dean and President serving us was such a special touch. It showed how much they care about the students."
Daniel Whitter (C’28) added, "The countdown to the Christmas tree lighting was really something. It really kicked off the holiday season in style."
Additionally, Emily Harper (C’27) remarked, "The decorations were beautiful and really set the mood for the holiday season. I must say they outdid themselves.”
James Lee (C’25) noted, "It was great to see everyone come together and celebrate. The sense of community was strong."
Finally, Sophia Martinez (C’28) expressed, "I appreciated the effort put into making this event special for us. It truly felt like a home away from home."
The event concluded with a countdown as President Joyce lit the Christmas tree, adding a festive touch to the evening. It was wonderful to see everyone in Patriot Hall having a good time and sharing everything that they are thankful for.
